suicideTALK Training

Introduction

suicideTALK is an introductory programme that teaches about suicide and how individuals can make a difference in their community.

What is the Purpose of the Course?

To help individuals learn more about suicide and how they can prevent it.

By dispelling the myth that talking about suicide promotes suicidal behaviour, suicideTALK provides a solid foundation for suicide prevention. It aims to reduce stigma around suicide and promote awareness within the community. It also provides an opportunity for networking among participants.

Objectives of the Course

  • Examine why people experience thoughts of suicide.
  • Encourage open discussion about suicide and attitudes toward it.
  • Explore ways people can help to prevent suicide.

Entry Requirements

Participants do not need any formal preparation to attend the training—anyone age 15 or older who wants to make a difference can learn the suicideTALK steps.
